Can’t Speak

This beautiful moving visual, music video, cinematic moment was so much fun to make, and truly felt like the universe was in our favor: with a windswept alley, the most gorgeous day, a borrowed disco ball, and lots and lots of beautiful fabric.

The Warmth

My wish for everyone is that they have at least one person in their world that makes them feel like the sun is shining on them. When you're with them — when you're just simply thinking of them — they give you the good warmth. This song perfectly encapsulates the essence of dream country disco, and celebrates the beautiful hope of love, especially when it comes to you in a very unexpected way.

Filmed in two of our favorite places and spaces of Portland, Oregon: The Barlow Tavern & Topaz Farm.

Cabin Fever

We went with a non-narrative approach to this video as the camera follows a performer in her more casual moments about town, drawn together in an amalgamation of dreamy sequences.

Filmed in some of our most cherished spots in Portland, Oregon with beautiful natural light and even better vibes: Holocene, Slammer Tavern, The Alibi, Donnie Vegas, and Mississippi Studios.

Directed, Shot, and Edited by Jason Okamoto

Water Baby

Nestled in the Deschutes National Forest is the beautiful and historic Suttle Lake Lodge. I played a gig there in 2019 and stayed in magic cabin #8. Every afternoon was filled with swimming in the lake - and I can remember so clearly one moment where I looked up surrounded by trees and blue sky feeling such pride and joy that music had brought me there. That is where the seed of Water Baby began. Trying to create a song that embodied as much happiness and freedom as was in that moment.

When it came time to create a film for the song, there was nowhere else to go but back to the source. Elevation 0m created this beautiful film with Suttle Lake as the main scene partner and a 6am call time captured the calmest lake while I swam in it just as I had the summer before.

Gratitude forever to Suttle Lake Lodge - for permission to film and for being the bastion of nature filled glory, delicious food and drink, and the very best people.

All Gratitude to Jay Flewelling who helped to co-produce this video.

Special thanks Raymond Richards and Long Play Recording Studio for allowing us to spend time getting down to brass tacks in the studio scenes.

TEDxPortland Talk

In 2019, I gave a talk at TEDxPortland to discuss the non-profit I founded, Piano. Push. Play. This project began with two objectives: to give the public a new, exciting way to share their talent and hard work, and to give the public a chance to experience music outside of the typical concert hall.

Piano. Push. Play. rescues pianos and places them across the city for everyone to enjoy. Each piano is given new life by artists who paint, fabricate, and even tattoo the surfaces. What began as one piano on one street corner is now a city-wide musical experience that invites people of Portland to create music together. It’s a beautiful expression of togetherness, and their work represents Portland at its creative finest.

With special thanks to core the TEDxPortland organizing team, 70+ volunteers and cherished partners - without you this experience would not be possible.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
